3 Fruit Infused Water Recipes to Satisfy Your Taste Buds

We’ve all heard that we need to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. A daily dose of hydration is essential for overall good health but how often do you hear yourself saying, “I need to drink more water, but plain water is just so boring!” The easiest method I’ve found to make plain water taste better is by infusing it with fruits. Fruits are an important part of a healthy lifestyle as well so now you can enjoy both by creating your own unique fruit infused thirst-quenching water beverage.

In addition to water’s ability to hydrate, fruit infused water can also be meant to soothe and relax, energize and digestion, or even help with boosting metabolism and weight loss with the addition of herbs, spices, and even essential oils! Below are three fruit infused water recipes that can help with each:

1. Blueberry & Basil / / Skin Booster

Drinking water is amazing for your skin, but add in antioxidant-rich blueberries which are loaded with vitamins that promote healthy, plump skin and basil which has oils that help to lower inflammation and slow down the effects of aging and you’ve got yourself a lovely little beauty blend.

Try this Blueberry and Basil Infused Water Beverage:

• 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries • 1 /4 cup of fresh basil

•1 quart of cold water

Let mixture infuse for at least 2 hours or overnight for full flavor. You can also try muddling the berries for even more flavor.

2. Strawberry Thyme / / Mood Booster

Try this Strawberry Thyme Infused Water Beverage:

Strawberries are rich in Vitamin C, which is known to reduce stress, while thyme is often used in aromatherapy practices for it’s calming and relaxing effects.

•6 chopped strawberries

•4 sprigs of fresh thyme

•1 quart cold water

3. Grapefruit Jalapeño Infused Water // Metabolism Booster

This infusion combines two of the best foods for speeding up your metabolism — grapefruit and hot peppers. If you love spicy things and are looking to torch some extra calories this blend is for you.

•1/4 grapefruit

•sliced1/2 deseeded jalapeño chopped

•1 quart of cold water

Let mixture infuse for 2 hours. Warning: the longer it soaks, the spicier it will get!

As much as I enjoy drinking my fruit infused water at home, sometimes I want to enjoy it while I’m on the go. I bought this flavor infusion bottle over the summer and now I drink a fruit infused beverage all day everyday. I just toss the bottle in my bag when I’m heading to the gym, a yoga class, or office. I chose this Savvy Infusion water bottle because it’s:

Eco-friendly Can hold 24 fluid ounces which is perfect for long commutes Fits perfectly in my car cup holder The bottle is leak-proof…and it’s just so easy to use!
